As per the stories told by the owner of the museum, all these products are brought directly from the shores of Andaman and Nicobar, nearby the Bay of Bengal. With each cyclone, the sea brought along ancient trees and roots and left behind its plunders on the shores. These tree woods were gathered and carved in some of the finest forms- birds, animals, reptiles, amphibians and fishes. This process of developing the plundered goods brought in by the Bay of Bengal is on display at this museum.
The admirers and connoisseurs of this rare and innovative form of art frequent the Bay Island Driftwood Museum.
