Lower Manair Dam

About Lower Manair Dam:

A tributary of the Godavari River, the Manair River is covered by the Lower Manair Dam (LMD). The dam’s construction began in 1974 and was completed in 1985. The reservoir has a 24 TMC gross storage capacity. Additionally, it provides drinking water to the towns of Karimnagar and Warangal.

The Lower Manair Dam is located on the Manair River at 18°24′ N latitude and 79° 20′ E longitude in Karimnagar District at Km.146 of Kakatiya Canal. The Manair River is a tributary of the Godavari River and the dam is built across the river at the confluence with Mohedamada River.

Activity:

The Dam provides an amazing view of the Karimnagar town from the top and is a great favorite among the locals for a weekend picnic. Boating facility is available in the reservoir.
