About Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Dharmapuri:
Dharmapuri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple has two very different idols of Lord Narasimha Swamy, i.e., the oldest one (pata Narasimha swamy) and the later one (kotha Narasimha swamy). This temple is one of the most important settlements of Vedic Brahmins in the state.
The village of Dharmapuri earned spiritual importance because of the presence of the shrine which is dedicated to Lord Narasimha Swamy, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

On the Godavari River’s banks sits a temple. Saligrama Sila is the manifestation of Lord Yogananda Narasimha Swamy. This temple’s Lord Shiva idol was erected by Rama, therefore the name Rama Lingeswara Swamy. In the eleventh century, the temple was built.
According to legend, Lord Vishnu destroyed the Demon King Hiranya Kashyap while assuming the form of Narasimha (Human Body and Lion Face). Even after defeating the demon, Lord Narasimha’s rage persisted. While screaming angrily, Lord Narasimha prowls through the hills and forests. Lord Narasimha was begged to calm down by Devas, Prahalada, and Saints. Lord Narasimha meditated in this location using the Yoga Mudra pose at their request. The temple was afterwards constructed by King Dharma Varma, a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu. It is known as Hari Hara Kshetram, this temple.
