About Syamalamba Temple:

Sri Syamalamba Ammavari Devasthanam is located at Mangalavarapu peta in Rajahmundry.This is an ancient and historical temple.Sri Syamalamba ammavaru stated as the Goddess of the Rajahmundry city. This Temple was constructed 100 years ago.

The temple is believed to be around 100 years old, which was reconstructed on 1st November 1911. The temple houses an idol of Goddess Syamalamba. Ugadi, Dasara, Jatara, Kanuma Seva most famous festivals in temple. There is a Sila – Sasanam(Statement engraved on stone) installed in the temple which supports the above fact. There is a custom and usage in the town to offer the Prathama Tambulam to Grama Devata by many of people at the time of Festivals and other important occasions.Kings like Raja Raja Narendra and during the period of Reddy Raja’s the kings prayed and offered their Kanukas to Sri Somalammavaru to bless them during the Battles.
