About Khammam Fort:

Khammam Fort is a fort in the city of Khammam, Telangana, India constructed by [[Lakshma Reddy, Ranga Reddy and Velama Reddy]. It served as an impregnable citadel during various regimes of different dynasties, including the Musunuri Nayaks, Qutb Shahi’s and Asaf Jahis. The fort was situated in a very vast area in the heart of the City of Khammam. Built during 950 AD by the Kakatiya rulers, the fort is an important tourist attraction in Khammam. Later, Musunuri Nayaks and Velama kings were involved in the expansion of the fort. Subsequently the Qutb Shahi kings developed the fort further. The fort is situated on Stambhadri hill.

The District has great historical and religious sites. The famous Narsimha swamy temple in Khammam town and also Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Jamalapuram so called Telangana Tirupati which attracts large no. of people.
