Ban Jhakri Falls Park

About Ban Jhakri Falls Park:

The Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park is a recreation centre and tourist attraction near Gangtok, in the state of Sikkim, India. The park’s statuary and other displays document the Ban Jhakri, or traditional shamanic healer who worships spirits living in caves around the falls. Ban means “forest”, and jhākri means “healer”.

Banjhakri Falls is a natural waterfall sourced from springs at higher elevation. The Banjhakri Falls ends in a crystal pool of water and the tranquillity of the place is only heightened by the lush vegetation all around. This initiative by the Sikkimese government has helped elevate the popularity of the waterfall and at the same time make use of renewable sources of energy.
