Ghatika Siddeswaram Temple

About Ghatika Siddeswaram Temple:

It is located at Siddeshwara Kona in the Sitaramapuram Surrounded by large hills. Siddha’s were performed penance here. Hence called Lord Shiva as Siddheshwara Swamy.

According to local mythology, it dates back to before the 6th century. The Nithyanatha Siddhacharyas state in the Rasaratnakara scripture that Agastya Maharshi, one of the Sapta Rishis, performed penance in this temple and performed the marriage of Umamaheswaras.

The temple was renovated in 1974 by Avadhuta Kashinayana at a time when the temple was in a state of disrepair.

The Goddess Ishtakameshwari Devi, who is present here, pays special obeisances to the devotees in various forms during the Dussehra Sharanavaratri celebrations.
