The Guwahati Planetarium was inaugurated on August 17, 1994. The Guwahati Planetarium is constructed into dome shaped with sloping walls setting it apart from other planetarium designs. Situated at the heart of the city in Guwahati, the Guwahati Planetarium is an important center of astronomical studies and scientific research. The Guwahati planetarium is an endeavor to cater to the scientific needs of the students and children. Guwahati Planetarium is another destination to explore and have fun in Assam. The ambiance of the place makes the tourists feel relaxed and enjoyable. The place gives peace to the tourists and makes them feel comfortable.

Guwahati Planetarium is one of its kind centre of astronomical education and research in Assam and the entire North-Eastern region of India. The Guwahati Planetarium is unrivalled in Assam and rest of northeast India with its distinctive dome and sloping walls that sets it apart in the skyline of the area.

Every 1st month the Guwahati Planetarium is Closed.
