Just across the Krishna River, in the hills near Mangalagiri, you will find Hinkar Thirtha, a Jain temple admired for its architecture. Ornate archways and pillars welcome you as you climb up the steps leading to the temple. The central tower is flanked by carved spires and the temple stands out of the countryside in its splendor. It is the largest Jain temple in the entire state of Andhra Pradesh and you can expect crowds on festival days.

The Hinkar Tirtha is a Jain temple, which is based on the main highway out of Vijaywada. The place is clean and peaceful and is beautifully built, especially the carvings.
