Little Flower Church, Ernakulam

About Little Flower Church, Ernakulam:

The Little Flower Church, Elamkulam has a short, but quite a history. In 1948, a chapel was built in the name of St. Philomena and the first Eucharist was offered on the 13th of March. Around that time, there were about 80 Syrian Catholic families in the Elamkulam area. As the community of believers started growing, the chapel was relocated to accommodate the spiritual needs and later, it was dedicated to St. Theresa of Lisieux and in 1955, it was established as a church. In 1959, a cemetery was constructed and in the same year itself, the church which was under the leadership of the Tripunithura Church, became an independent parish of its own.
