About Nizamabad Fort:
Nizamabad Fort, also known as Nizamabad Quilla, is a fort in Nizamabad in the Indian state of Telangana. It was built in 10th century by Rashtrakuta Kings and is situated in the southwest of the city, which is 2 kilometers from Gandhi Chowk. The Nizamabad Fort was constructed on the top of a small hill located somewhat to the south west of the town, during the 10th century AD. The kings of the ancient dynasty, Rashtraputha, built this amazing citadel during the period of their absolute control over these areas.
The Fort has its head very high with a height of about 300 meters. There are a number of rulers who enjoyed their authority over this awe inspiring construction because of the constant change of the ruling power in the area. So the control of the Fort had been in numerous hands of different rulers from a list of dynasties. Nizamabad Fort is one of the important historical monuments of the Nizamabad city. It is an ancient fort was built by the Rashtrakuta kings who ruled this region. This magnificent fort was occupied by Allauddin Khilji, followed by the Bahamanis, Qutub Shahis and eventually by Mughals.
