About Ramatheertham Temple:

Sri Ramaswamy Temple at Ramatheertham is a ancient temple which is believed to be 1000 years old and Sri Rama Chandra Swamy is the Preceding Deity. Ramatheertham is 13 km from Vijaynagaram District in Andhra Pradesh State. Ramatheertham Sri Ramaswamy Temple built on a huge rock on a hill named Bavikonda where river Champa flows at the foot of Neelachalam Hills. Puranas says the idols of Sri Rama, Sita Devi and Lakshmana was installed and worshipped by Pandavas Kings during there 12 years vanavasam. There are many tortoises with Vishnu Namams on the back and they roam here and there near the temple and the near by lake. Rama Stambham was installed by Pedda Jeeyar in this Sri Rama temple.
Buddhist Mahastupa of about 19 feet high and 65 feet dia are on the hills of Gurubukhata Konda near this temple.
