About Tsomgo Lake:
Tsomgo means the ‘Source on Lakes’. At an altitude of approx 12,000 ft above the sea level it is the most visited place in Gangtok.
Sikkim has a lot of amazing attractions in its vicinity and one amongst them is the Tsomgo Lake which is also known as the Changu Lake. It is a glacial water body in Sikkim and a beautiful place to visit. The Sikkimese believe this lake to be a Jhakris which means it holds significance as a healing place. You can usually see snow from December onwards to May.
There is also a small Shiva temple on the bank of the lake. As the lake is located in a restricted area it is essential for all Indians visiting the area to obtain permits.
