Valiathura’ was a major port of Thiruvananthapuram city the capital of Kerala, India. It is one of the oldest port in India. Valiathura Sea Bridge located in Shankhumugham is one of India’s oldest ports and was one of the major ports of Kerala until Cochin port became the prominent port. Valiathura lost its significance now and is considered as a fish port. Valiyathura was known as Raithura at the time of the Travancore Kingdom. Valiathura is famous for its 703-foot pier which is over 60 years old.
