About Khawnglung Wildlife Sanctuary:

The Khawnglung Wildlife Sanctuary is is rich in flora and fauna and is home to a vast number of wild animals, some of which are the wild boar, gibbon, barking deer, sambar deer, hoolock and the leopard. It is based at an elevation of nearly 400 to 1300 metres and the most prominent vegetation of the sanctuary is Sub-Tropical and Semi Evergreen Forests.

Visitors to this place will observe that general climate of this wildlife sanctuary remains pleasantly warm all the year round. This region is nicely connected by roadways.

About Mizoram State Museum:

The Mizoram State Museum is in Aizawl, Mizoram, India. It is an ethnographic museum with multipurpose collections on display. There are five galleries: Textile Gallery, Ethnology, History, Anthropology, Natural History, and an Archaeology Terrace. The collection occupies four floors.

The museum was established in April 1977 by the Tribal Research Institute under Education Department. From 1989, it came under Art and Culture department. The museum was earlier housed in a rented building but on 14 July 1990 it was moved to a new building, at Mc Donald Hill.

Such a beautiful place and yet it was empty. You will learn many new things about this place from here. They have very little fee charge. I will recommend all to visit this place to seek knowledge about Mizoram.

About Vantawng Falls:

It is the highest uninterrupted waterfall in mizoram. Vantawng Falls is the highest and most spectacular of the waterfalls and cascades in the fast flowing rivers of Mizoram. It is located in Vanva river near Thenzawl and is named after Vantawnga, who was said to be an excellent swimmer. So good a swimmer was Vantawnga that he could hover in the cascading water like a fish.

The height of the fall is recorded as 324 feet (99 m). Though it is difficult to get close to it because of the sheer forested hillsides surrounding it, a viewing tower has been constructed.

Dampa Tiger Reserve is a wildlife sanctuary that is located in the dense forests of Mizoram. The size of the park area is 200 km2 (77 sq mi).The park is situated about 245 km east of Aizawl, and is close to the Chin Hills. It lies north of Lengteng Wildlife Sanctuary in the same district. It covers an area of approximately 100 km2. The tropical, semi-evergreen and sub montane Forests of Murlen are home to a rich variety of flora and fauna. About 15 species of mammals, 150 species of birds, 35 species of Medicinal plants, 2 species of bamboos, and 4 species of orchids so far have been recorded in this Park.

Murlen National Park is categorized by tropical, semi-evergreen and sub mountain forests. The forests are so thick that only 1% of rays can penetrate even on a sunny day. It is often compared to the Amazon in South America.
