The Gompa sits on top of the hill literally. A small but colorful gate marks the entrance of the Gompa. A white stupa with golden carvings stood just outside the main Gompa and against the backdrop of green rolling hills, it looked very beautiful. The Gompa is actually near the main road but it seemed separated from the rest of the town by this small hill that stood out in the hill station. It is by far the most peaceful and serene place I visited in Itanagar. It is also a nice spot to view Itanagar from a higher point.
The roof is contrasted by the green carpets that surround the shrine. The most important feature for the tourists as well as the followers of the sculpture of Lord Buddha.
One of the famous tourist spots in Itanagar, the Gompa Buddhist Temple may be of varied interests. One can go there to worship, connect with Buddha and his teachings. One can go to absorb the highly colorful and welcoming nature. It can easily be a good spot to meditate. There are many places to sit inside the Gompa complex. There’s also a nice cafe right outside the Gompa. One can stay here for a long time, without complaining.

The Ita Fort at Arunachal Pradesh was built as early as the 14th or the 15th century by kings of the Chutia dynasty. The fort has an irregular shape, built mainly with bricks dating back to the 14th-15th Century. The total brickwork is of 16,200 cubic metre lengths which was probably built by kings of the Chutiya kingdom which ruled the region during that time. The excavated ruins of this historical fort are one of the major tourist attractions in Itanagar.
The fort has three different entrances at three different sides, which are western, the eastern and the southern sides. While the eastern rampart of the fort is more than half-a-kilometre long and has one gate, the western rampart is over 1.4 km long with two gates. The original height of the rampart was around 5 m and the average wall width around 1.5 m.
