The fort was built by Raja Alam Singh in 1802. Work on the fort, actually began in 1762 at the behest of Raja Tegh Singh and was completed by his son Raja Alam Singh in 1802. The place is one of the most important historical sites in Jammu and Kashmir. Excavations by the Archaeological Survey of India have established the fact that Akhnoor was one of the last bastion of the Indus Valley Civilization.

In the quaint town of Akhnoor, about 28 kilometres away from Jammu city, lies the majestic Akhnoor Fort. The Chenab River, flowing close to the fort, enhances the beauty of the place. Built across two floors, this structure features arches and beautiful mural paintings. Besides, the huge walls, bastions, watch-towers, battlements and merlons are quite a sight to behold.

About Amar Mahal Palace:

The Amar Mahal Palace is a palace in Jammu, in the Indian erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. This palatial building is a marvellous example of French-chateau style architecture built by King Amar Singh of the Dogra Dynasty. This museum is housed in the Amar Mahal Palace, built in 1862 in a unique, French-chateau style of architecture.

It was built in the nineteenth century for Raja Amar Singh, a Dogra king by a French architect on the lines of a French Chateau. The palace was donated to the Hari-Tara charitable trust by Dr. Karan Singh for use as a museum.

After the death of Maharani Tara Devi in 1967, her son Dr. Karan Singh and his wife Mrs. Yasho Rajya Lakshmi converted this palace for use as a museum. The museum was inaugurated on April 13, 1975 by then prime minister of India Mrs Indira Gandhi.

Mubarak Mandi is a palace in Jammu, India. The palace was the royal residence of the maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir from the Dogra dynasty. It was their main seat till 1925 when maharaja Hari Singh moved to the Hari Niwas Palace in the northern part of Jammu. The palace is located in the heart of the old walled city of Jammu and overlooks the Tawi river.

The oldest building of the complex dates back to 1824. Successive maharajas added to the complex in size and building took more than 150 years. The architecture is a mix of Rajasthani architecture and European baroque, and Mughal styles.

With its columns, domes and arches, it is an imposing sight to come across and is full of grandeur. A part of the palace, now known as the Pink Hall, has now been converted into a museum called the Government Dogra Art Museum, and is known as one of the richest museums of the country.

Bhimeswara Swamy Temple or Sri Chalukya Kumararama Bhimeswara Swamy Temple is one of the five Pancharama Kshetras that are sacred to the Hindu god Shiva. The temple is located in Samalkota of East Godavari district Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
